This event is exclusively for invited guests. Special reception evening at the Washi Art International Exchange Exhibition Midorino Kaeru (Gigi) who is the main artist of this exhibition, and AJA of SA as the co-organiser of this event, warmly invite you to experience the exhibition and share an evening together surrounded by Washi art. We would like introduce you to a special guest artist from Japan, Monica. Two wonderful skilled Australian Artists, David Kennett and Ryo Muto will be there to explain about their art works.  Of course, main artist Midorino Kaeru woul love to meet all the guests and she will tell you about her big ambision of her Washi Art. Washi Art Earth Project

  Midori-no Kaeru “Connecting the World – Washi Art Earth Project”  The Future of Our Planet Shaped by Unique Individuality Features International Exchange: Different cultures and sensibilities from around the world come together in a single artwork. Promoting Japanese Culture: Children overseas experience creating with washi, traditional Japanese handmade paper. Collaborative Creation: Even when physically apart, participants share the joy of making one unified piece. Outline Create a large circular canvas. Divide the circle into nine equal sections. Assign three sections to children from each participating country, who will create torn-paper art using washi, a traditional Japanese craft material. Finally, washi artist Midori-no Kaeru will refine and integrate the sections into one complete artwork. The completed piece will be exhibited and shared online.

Volunteers Needed for the Washi Art International Exchange Exhibition Note: Volunteer applications are now closed. ★ ★ ★ Volunteers needed ★ ★ ★ When:  Fri, 11th - Mon, 14th of September, 2026 What: 4 Days of Art Exhibition and Fun Hands on Workshops Time:  10am - 6pm each day Where:  Bunnik Travel, 45 Flinders Street, Adelaide SA 5000 The role of a volunteer For assistance with Origami and Calligraphy workshops, during the event on the days 11th - 14th of September and times between 10am - 4:30pm and times between 10am - 4:30pm Origami Teach participants how to make various shapes with origami.
