AGM 2021 Oct

2021 AJA's 54th AGM and Dinner was held on Wed, 27 Oct

AJA held our 54th AGM and dinner on Wednesday, 27th of October at the Ginza Miyako Japanese Restaurant. Last year we could not have physical gathering for our AGM and dinner due to Covid-19 restrictions.  So we were all very lucky that we were able to have one together this year.

This year 25 people attended, including our special guest Noriko Tadano with her husband and son.  Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed our meals while listening to Noriko's music.

For the official part of the AGM;
  • Stuart chaired the meeting and everything went well. Sue gave us the financial report.
  • Kyoko gave the presidents report including a summary of what AJA has done in the year 2020 and 2021.
  • Kyoko also thanked Glen Woodward for his tremendously generous support for AJA, as he donated $600 last year and $1000 this year to AJA.
  • Kyoko thanked Glen for his generosity.  Without Glen's financial support, AJA would not be able to keep going. Thankyou so much Glen san.
  • Kyoko also informed us of AJA's former president Jim Stewart recent achievement.  Jim received one of the Japanese Emperor's Medals called the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette last November. On the 25th of March this year, Jim finally and officially was presented with the medal.
  • Jim announced that he stepped down from committee.
  • Kyoko thanked Jim for his wonderful work.
