 Volunteer's Work and Role

in the Adelaide Japanese Cultural Day in Burnside 2026

demonstrated and served a bowl of Matcha Green Tea

Sunday, the23rd of Augsut, 2026

Venue: 

Burnside Ballroom, Old Town Hall, Car Park
Address: 401 Greenhill Rd,Tusmore, SA


We need a help on Sat, 22nd of August and 23rd of August 2026

  • Saturday, 22nd of August from 1pm till 6pm for setting up 

  • Sunday, 23rd of August , the event day, from 8:30am to 4pm
    City of Burnside workers will bring 5 tents for the West Car Park to set up
    Generator will arrive at 9am from Kennard Hire store.
    Stuart and Kyoko will be there 8:30am.
    Most of the stundents volunteers will arrive 9:00am by the public transportation 
  • From 4pm Cleaning up
Note:
Please note that we may ask volunteers to help with things not only on the day but also beforehand such as making bunners, posters, signs and all sorts of props for activities and to decorate the venue. 
At this point, we do not require anything beforehand but when we need your help, we will let you know.

We need you help at and as;

Basically we need everyone help for setting up and cleaning up and running activities
Plus in each section as below:

Setting up the Ballroom, Old Town Hall

  • Setting up the tables and chairs for all the workshop area
  • Decorate the hall with posters, banners, lanterns, origami etc
  • Setting up Tori-i Gate 
  • Tanabata decoration ( Some bamboo trees and origami decoration)
Tidy up after the evet
  • Wiping the tables
  • Collecting rubbish
  • Mopping the floor 
  • And so on

  • Origami Workshop
  • Tanabata decoration
  • Calligraphy
  • Stamp Rally
Front Desk 
  • Receiving gold coins at the entrance

AJA Information Desk
  • Hand out maps and leaflet about AJA
AJA Stall 
  • AJA T-shirts and apron sale 
  • Second hand books sale
  • Knick knacks sale 
Activity Ticket Selling Desk
  • Stamp Rally tickets
  • Tea Ceremony Experience
  • Yukata Try On
Visitor guides
  • Guiding and directing where people want to go
  • We are using two separate buildings, which are Burnside Ballroom and The Old Town Hall. 
  • So, please help those who look like lost where to go.
